COLUMBIA, SC, September 9, 2020– Cohn Corporation’s construction team receives 2020 Historic Preservation Award alongside 1X1 Design and Styx, Claussen’s, LLC for the Adaptive Reuse of the former Claussen’s Bakery into Boutique Apartments.
Before becoming luxury apartments, Claussen’s was formerly a bakery, warehouse and boutique hotel. Through its many transformations, the 26,000-square-foot building has always maintained it itself as a historic fixture in Columbia’s Five Points District.
The new boutique apartments have 29 unique individual units that blend modern finishes with the original historical features of the building. The café style common area is designed to extend the limited entertaining area of the individual apartments, giving the apartments community style living.
