Cohn Construction Services Partners with Carolina Hitting Academy and Athletes Arena to Help Build The Hitting Zone.
COLUMBIA, SC, April 26, 2017– Cohn Construction Services announces their newest tenant in Columbia Industrial Park, The Hit Zone. Kelley Kirkland (Carolina Hitting Academy), Jason Brunson and Shane Miller (Athletes Arena) will come together to deliver the Midlands first full-service headquarters for Hitting, Pitching, Strength and Conditioning.
With vast experience working with athletes from little league to elite, The Hit Zone will provide hitting lessons, pitching lessons, strength and conditioning training, batting cage rental, and extra instruction for teams to help develop the total athlete. This space will be the first of its kind in the Midlands and aims to meet the needs of softball and baseball clients.
Industry heavy-hitter, Kelley Kirkland, will co-own and operate The Hit Zone. Founder of the Carolina Hitting Academy, she has been in business for 16 years and is looking forward to expanding and re-branding. Before Carolina Hitting Academy, Kirkland played Softball at the University of South Carolina and then went on to be a Graduate Assistant at Florida State University. She has 3 College World Series appearances as a player and graduate assistant, which spring boarded her into a position as the Head Softball Coach at Georgia Southern University and later to running her own hitting academy.
Co-owners Jason Brunson and Shane Miller have extensive resumes as strength and conditioning coaches and will manage the strength and conditioning division of The Hit Zone. Athletes Arena has been open since 2005, and has successfully coached and trained over 100 athletes that signed on to play Division 1 sports. Together this team rounds out the perfect resume needed to build complete athletes.
The Hit Zone is expected to be open in late summer 2017.
