The historic Klondike Building was built in 1961 as a government office building. The 1813 Main Street Apartments project included an interior conversion of the office into 30 apartments while adhering to the National Park Service historic requirements. The exterior restoration included removal of the 1980's stucco façade to expose the original stone façade underneath. The renovations to the building systems included all new electrical service, fire suppression system, mechanical systems, elevator and roof. The project also included extending the elevator up an additional floor to create access for the new rooftop patio.
